Gebo Cermex: a leader is born in packaging line engineering
April 2013 saw the launch of a new giant in packaging line engineering, with a name which will be familiar to many: Gebo Cermex. Born of the merger of two established brands – Gebo and Cermex – this new packaging line giant is headquartered in France, with a global network of offices and manufacturing facilities. Under the leadership of President and Managing Director Marc Aury, Gebo Cermex is looking forward to a very bright future.
This launch marks the return of the Gebo brand, an iconic name in the field of conveying and material handling with over five decades of heritage and experience. Combined with Cermex’s proven expertise in overwrapping and end-of-line equipment for fast-moving consumer goods, and with a team of over 1,800 dedicated professionals, this new group has the ambition and the resources to be “first in line” in the packaging industry.Marrying the know-how and history of Gebo with the technological resources of Cermex, Gebo Cermex arrives fully-formed as the biggest and most advanced packaging line engineering firm in the world, offering a vast range of industrial solutions: from line-integration to conveying, from feeding systems and tunnel machines to overwrapping, packing and palletizing systems, helping clients to optimise productivity as well as offering comprehensive after-sales service. Over the decades the company developed a formidable reputation in an ever-growing number of fields: conveying systems, automated packaging, robotics, bottle washers, tunnel machines and more. Cermex, meanwhile, has grown steadily thanks to a combination of technological innovation in the fields of case-packing, shrink-wrapping and palletizing, backed by a worldwide sales & services presence and a series of intelligent acquisitions, including the buy-out of robotic palletizing experts Newtec Case Palletizing in May last year. President Marc Aury explains the logic of uniting these two trusted brands:– In creating Gebo Cermex, our goal was to draw on our prestigious past in order to shape the future of our industry, offering our clients the broadest possible range of services. With over five decades of heritage and expertise, coupled with the best-in-class technology that has made both brands such trusted names, no other company in the market comes close to matching us for depth and scope of expertise. That’s why Gebo Cermex is first in line.
